Chaired by Shirin Ismatullozoda, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan a meeting of Interagency Steering Committee was held for the implementation of the “Maternal and Child Health Integrated Care” project.

On February 25, 2020 in Dushanbe, chaired by Shirin Ismatullozoda, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan a meeting of Interagency Steering Committee was held for the implementation of the “Maternal and Child Health Integrated Care” project, in which the following members have taken part.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan Nasim Olimzoda – Deputy Chairperson of the Interagency Steering Committee.

Members:

Gulmahmadzoda Z.G – Deputy Head of the Social Development Department of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan;

Majidi Yu – Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan;

Kamoliddinzoda I.J – Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan;

Naziri L.K – Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan;

Sheralizoda Sh.A – First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan;

Abdulmuinova Z., Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan;

As well, Heads of a number of departments of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of executive authorities of the pilot districts were present in the meeting.

The meeting was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ismatullozoda Shirin, who introduced the meeting agenda of the Interagency Steering Committee for the implementation of the “Maternal and Child Health Integrated Care” project and the goal of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on maternal and child health protection in the pilot districts of the project namely, Faizabad and Rasht districts of republican subordination and Shamsiddin Shohin district of Khatlon area.

It was noted that all ongoing activities are carried out within the framework of the “Action Plan for the implementation of the tasks set out in the Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated December 26, 2019 “on the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of the republic”.

According to the agenda of the meeting, Ms. Umarzoda Saida – First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan made a speech on the process of project implementation.

It was reported that, despite the fact that this project was launched on March 29, 2019, the process of its implementation was properly organized.

In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Shirin Ismatullozoda instructed the members of the Committee and local authorities to contribute to the timely and effective implementation of the project.

Then, Mahmudzoda I.S., the Project Manager of the Maternal and Child Health Integrated Care, delivered a presentation to inform the audienence about the implementation of the project by its components.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the agenda of the meeting, as well as expressed their opinion on the activities of the project.

Given the discussion of the issues, the proposed suggestions and their importance, the Interagency Steering Committee for the implementation of the “Maternal and Child Health Integrated Care” decided.
