
Dedicated to the Day of Medical Workers, on August 17, a solemn event was held at the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibn Sino, which was attended by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan – Olimzoda Nasim Khoja, Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan, head of the Social Development Department of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan – Guljahon Abdufattohzoda, Representative of the World Health Organization in the Republic of Tajikistan – Marta Everard, Rector of the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibni Sino – Mahmadsho Gulzoda, deputy ministers and a wide range of heads and employees of the ministry.

It should be noted that before the event, the head of the Ministry of health and social protection of the Republic of Tajikistan and the representative of the world health organization in Tajikistan laid a wreath near the monument of Abuali ibn Sino to commemorate the great doctor and the scientist.

This event was opened by the chairman of the trade union of health workers Nurkhon Hayatzoda, who then gave the floor to the Minister of health and social protection of the Republic of Tajikistan – Olimzoda Nasim Khoja.
In his congratulatory message, Mr. Olimzoda, the Minister of health and social protection of the Republic of Tajikistan, in particular, noted that the medical profession is one of the most prestigious one.
It is gratifying that in our current society, doctors have not lost their status and become the real heirs of the great Sina. A doctor’s health affects people’s health – he added.
Mr.Olimzoda, the Minister of health and social protection of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted that the continued support from the government and the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, significantly improved the health sector in all areas. This is evidenced by the fact that every year the government allocates more and more funds to this sector. For example, the health budget plan for 2019 is projected at 1 billion 740 million 536 thousand somoni, which is 12.2%, in 2018 189 million 600 thousand somoni, which is 2.2% of GDP, and 7.2% of the total state budget.

Khairinisso Yusufi, Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, during her speech congratulated all the doctors on their professional holiday and noted that in our flourishing country there are worthy generation of Abuali ibn Sino, Beruni and other wise men.

The head of the social development department of the executive office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Guljahon Abdufattokhzoda, in turn, congratulated all the country’s healthcare workers on their professional holiday and noted that it is encouraging that Tajik doctors throughout the country celebrate their professional holiday every year.
In her speech, she noted that health care is in the focus of the head of state and government.

Marta Everard, representative of the World Health Organization in the Republic of Tajikistan, expressed gratitude for participating in such a grandiose event for the country’s health workers and congratulated all the country’s doctors on this day.

Nabizhon Khomidov, a member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, in his speech mentioned the role of Abuali ibn Sino in the development of world medicine, and in particular Tajik medicine, he then added that Sino’s book Al-Konun was translated into Irish 400 years ago.

During the ceremony, a number of active health workers were awarded the title of “Excellence in Health Care of the Republic of Tajikistan” and diplomas awarded by the Minister of health and social protection of the Republic of Tajikistan – Mr Olimzoda.

At the end of the festive event, a cultural and entertainment event was organized, in which the Padida dance group and Tajik pop artists performed.
It should be noted that the State Prize of the Republic of Tajikistan named after Abuali ibn Sino was established on March 1, 1967. In addition, his image is reflected in the national currency of the country, and today in the Republic of Tajikistan there are streets named in his honor.
