On September 9, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Chairman Rustami Emomali took part in a gala event dedicated to the 28th anniversary of independence and launching of the second hydro unit of the Roghun Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP). The ceremony took place in the Navruzgoh complex.
President Emomali Rahmon congratulated the people of Tajikistan, compatriots living abroad, and the participants with the occasion of the 28th anniversary of independence and the launch of the second hydro unit of the Rogun HPP, – a bright light of the houses of the inhabitants of Tajikistan and the guarantor of the bright future of our beloved motherland.
The head of state Emomali Rahmon emphasized that for the past 28 years, the ancient and civilizing Tajik people have achieved a sacred and historical achievement – state independence, and today this great phenomenon in the modern history of our people is celebrated with a high sense of patriotism and pride.
He noted that independence is a sign of freedom, national identity, and pride of every patriotic citizen, a symbol of happiness and prosperity, a long-standing condition for the fortress of the Tajik nation and the state.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon noted that the glorious Tajik people and the healthy forces of our society rallied under the banner of honor and national unity and accomplished an unprecedented feat in the name of achieving peace, stability and national unity.
“Peace, stability and national unity are of great importance for us – Tajiks, as many sacred values, and their protection and strengthening is the life and spiritual task of every honorable citizen of Tajikistan. The achievement of peace, stability and national unity is one of the great achievements of the era of independence,” said Emomali Rahmon, calling the launch of the second hydro unit of Rogun a good creative phenomenon and the most important achievement for further increasing electricity production, strengthening the energy potential and a sustainable step of the Tajik people towards ensuring energy independence.
He noted that as a result of the dedicated work and patriotic effort of specialists and workers, the construction of this great object of the century will be completed in the coming years, along the development of all areas of the national economy and the welfare of our people.
The gala event ended with a grand concert and fireworks.
