On October 23, 2020 in the framework of the project “Maternal and Child Health Integrated Care (MCHIC)” under the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MOHSPP) of the Republic of Tajikistan, between MOHSPP of the Republic of Tajikistan and the international joint venture “Societa Italiana di Monitoraggio SpA ( Italy) ”and“ RPA Srl ”and“ BARS Consulting Ltd ”a bilateral agreement on design and supervision of construction and equipment works (CS05), has been signed.
It should be noted that more than 75% of the project funds are for construction works, and the main goal of the MCHIC project (ADB grant 0627 – TAJ (SF)) under MOHSPP of the Republic of Tajikistan is to improve integrated maternal and child health services in pilot districts, Faizobod and Rasht districts of RRS and Shamsiddin Shohin district of Khatlon region, through the construction and renovation of central district hospitals and district health centers, providing hospitals and primary health care facilities with medical equipment and furniture, improving planning and strengthening human resources through the development of planning strategies and staffing, organizing trainings on maternal and child health for the staff of primary health care facilities and hospitals in educational centers and institutions, piloting case-based financing mechanism and raising public awareness on maternal and child health through communication activities.
