Employees of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population have had a training on Gender

In order to timely and efficiently implement the “Maternal and Child Health Integrated Care” MCHIC project, under the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP) of the Republic of Tajikistan, on November 27, 2020, a training course on Gender issues was held to complement the output 4 – Project Management, Section 4.1.1. The training was conducted to increase the capacity of MoHSPP employees on gender issues.

The training was attended by employees of  MoHSPP of the Republic of Tajikistan, specialists from the Republican Educational and Clinical Center for Family Medicine, the National Center for Reproductive Health, the Republican Center for Healthy Lifestyles, the Republican Center for Immunization and Immunoprophylaxis and MCHIC project staff.





The training was opened by Masuda Bobokhojaeva, Gender Specialist of the MCHIC Project Administration Project (PAG), who introduced the participants on various aspects of gender equality, gender regulations in the Republic of Tajikistan, gender violence, ADB policy for gender equality, demographic indicators of maternal and child mortality, barriers to women’s access to health care, population distribution by gender, aspects of gender inclusion in health care, and the Gender Implementation Plan for the MCHIC project under the MoHSPP of the Republic of Tajikistan. PAG Gender specialist has made all the  information collated in an informative presentations and the participants had a constructive discussion.

At the end of the training, the participants were given a questionnaire to check their post-test knowledge, and it was found that the knowledge of the participant on gender issues has increased, and the level of post-test knowledge reached 98%.. 

It should be noted that the holding of such events and training courses will help to improve the knowledge and skills of MCHIC PAG staff and other participants as well.
