June 1 marks the 71st anniversary of the International Children’s Day.

International Children’s Day was established by the decision of the Council of the International Federation of Women’s Democracies and was first celebrated in 1950 in 51 countries of the world.

The United Nations supported this initiative and declared the protection of the rights, life and health of children as one of its priorities.

The main goal of the International Children’s Day is to draw public attention to the real problems of children. Every year on June 1, the Republic of Tajikistan also celebrates Children’s Day, and accordingly, measures are taken to promote the rights and freedoms of children in the country.

It should be noted that the International Children’s Day has its own flag. In the green background, which symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness and fertility, around the Earth symbol stylistic shapes of red, yellow, blue, white and black are placed. These forms of people are a sign of diversity and tolerance. The symbol of the Earth, placed in the center, represents the common home of people. This is evidence that people on Earth live in peace and stability and bring up healthy children for the future of the nation in the world.
